OpenCloud Desktop ARM64 Community Build
Community-built OpenCloud Desktop AppImage for Linux aarch64 / ARM64.
This is a community build and not an official OpenCloud release.
OpenCloud Desktop running natively on Linux ARM64 / aarch64.
This repository provides a community-built Linux aarch64 / ARM64 AppImage of OpenCloud Desktop.
The AppImage is distributed as a Forgejo Release Asset and is not stored in the Git history.
Download
Use the Releases section of this repository to download the current ARM64
AppImage and its corresponding .sha256 file.
Verify the download with:
sha256sum -c OpenCloud_Desktop-v4.0.0-62-ge2683627f-linux-gcc-aarch64.AppImage.sha256
Make it executable:
chmod +x OpenCloud_Desktop-v4.0.0-62-ge2683627f-linux-gcc-aarch64.AppImage
Then run it:
./OpenCloud_Desktop-v4.0.0-62-ge2683627f-linux-gcc-aarch64.AppImage

The output filename is derived automatically from the OpenCloud Desktop Git
checkout. If HEAD is exactly on a Git tag, that tag is used. Otherwise,
git describe --tags --always --dirty is used, so development builds cannot
be mistaken for an official release build.
Included Linux functionality
The build pipeline includes:
- Native aarch64 OpenCloud Desktop binary
- Qt 6 runtime and QML dependencies
- Qt Wayland platform/integration plugins
- XCB fallback
- openVFS
- FUSE3-based files-on-demand support
- OpenVFS configuration
- OpenCloud VFS plugin AppImage RPATH fix
- SHA256 checksum generation
Current test coverage
At the time this README was generated, the build pipeline and resulting AppImage had been functionally tested on the build system described above.
Testing performed during initial development included:
- Native ARM64 application startup
- OpenCloud authentication
- File synchronization
- OpenVFS / FUSE3
- Files-on-demand / virtual filesystem
- Wayland/XCB packaging work
Important: this is currently the only physical ARM64 Linux hardware / distribution configuration used for hands-on functional validation of this build pipeline.
The AppImage is not Snapdragon-specific. It targets Linux aarch64 and
may run on other 64-bit ARM Linux systems, including Raspberry Pi hardware.
However, those systems are not claimed as tested unless they have actually been
validated.
Architecture compatibility does not automatically guarantee distribution compatibility. In particular, this artifact is built against the libc and userspace available on the build host. Systems with an older glibc baseline may therefore require a build produced in an older, defined build environment.
For official wide-distribution releases, a controlled CI/container/chroot baseline should be used and tested across multiple ARM64 distributions.
Rebuild

./build-arm64-appimage.sh

For OpenCloud Desktop issues unrelated to this build, please use the official OpenCloud upstream project.
Notes
openVFS is currently described upstream as experimental. It uses FUSE and is managed by the desktop client in normal operation.
This build pipeline is an initial ARM64 packaging implementation and should be reviewed and adapted to the project's official CI/release environment before being treated as an official OpenCloud release process.
